One of the more intriguing matchups of the whole bowl season comes in the Ticket City Bowl where its strength vs strength. The #1 Total offense, scoring offense and passing offense of Houston led by QB Case Keenum face a Penn St D that ranked #10 in total yds, #5 in scoring and pass D.

The Alamo Bowl may be one of the most entertaining bowl games this season with two high-powered offenses in Baylor and Washington and a match-up to look at will be Baylor’s #5 pass offense going up against Washington's #116 pass defense. The Bears will make their 2nd straight bowl appearance this year but it was no help to their defense that ranked #114 in the NCAA in total ypg, #109 in scoring D, #102 in rush D and #112 in pass D.

The national title game features two of the best defenses in the country with Alabama becoming the first team in a quarter century to lead the NCAA in all 4 major categories on defense (Total, Scoring, Rush, Pass) while the Tigers are no slouch themselves finishing in the top 10 in every category including #2 in total yds and scoring. While both teams do not have outstanding offenses they both rank in the top 20 in rush off and scoring off.
