The Chiefs return off the bye week with the #30 & #30 units (+1 TO) vs JAX with the #11 & #25 units (-2 TO’s). KC is simply a mess right now especially in the trenches & giving up 131 ypg rushing (4.4). Del Rio is reducing Garrard’s ability to audible as he wants Jones-Drew who has rushed for 133 yds (4.0) & 177 yds (22.1) the L2W to carry the offense here. I wasn’t surprised that Del Rio had his team in full pads & live tackling on Wed after the way they played vs TEN LW. I don’t  place the blame on KC’s struggles on Cassel as the OL is horrible, the WR’s slow & the run game is simply not a factor. I think the Jags will put together one of their best games of the year after LW’s debacle & pull away in the 2nd half.

This is arguably the most important game of the Texans existence. While they have only beaten IND 1 time in 14 meetings they are catching IND at a good time. The Colts will be without 3 of their top 5 DB’s here & also lost their SLB this week as well. Manning has had his best statistical success vs HOU avg 275 ypg (71%) with a 33-5 ratio. HOU’s #14 pass defense is a bit inflated as they have faced BUF, SF, OAK & TEN TY who have struggled airing the ball out TY. The Texans also lost a key part of their offense with TE Owen Daniels landing on IR & I want to see how they compensate. This has the makings of a shootout & I like the Colts at home when the dust settles.

TB beat GB 30-21 LY & dominated the game with a 327-181 yd edge as they turned 4 GB TO’s into 24 pts. GB now comes in with the #9 & #4 units (+12 TO’s) vs the Bucs #28 & #29 units (-2 TO’s). TB will wear the old school “Creamsicle” uniforms here with Josh Freeman making his 1st NFL start here. TB will try to run the ball to protect Freeman & flash his ability to push the ball downfield with his arm strength. TB is getting GB at a good time as Rodgers didn’t practice Wed or Thur due to ankle & foot injuries. GB is basically playing for a Wildcard spot now & Minus the MIN games GB has outgained foes 367-259 & has given up 155 ypg passing (50%) with a 6-11 ratio! GB is simply the better team & after facing the #1 sack defense gets the #29 sack defense & get back into the win column here.

Brady is 25-3 combined vs the Jets & Bills but only 9-5 vs the Dolphins with only the Broncos giving him that many losses in his career. This is a very poor situation for the Dolphins who are off a wildly misleading final vs NYJ winning 30-25 despite just 104 yds thanks to a pair of 100+ yd KR’s for TD’s & a 52 yd fumble return. They now have to travel for the 2nd straight week vs a NE team that has had extra time to break down the CB blitzes that have shut down the Wildcat the L2W. Sparano hinted he’ll throw more to counter that technique but I really like NE’s CB’s vs an avg at best WR unit. This is Henne’s 1st trip as a starter to the Razor & keep in mind Brady wasn’t the QB when the Dolphins unveiled the Wildcat LY in a 38-13 win. I think this gets out of hand fast as the Patriots won’t hold back.

After a 38-17 thumping by the Cowboys LW, Jim Mora read his team the riot act & basically told them that people would start losing their jobs with another poor performance. 12 SEA starters have missed at least 1 game TY but they get a very manageable foe here with the Lions who will likely have Calvin Johnson here. DET was outcoached badly by the Rams LW & now a very young team has to travel to the loudest venue in the NFL where opposing teams have been hit with 92 false start penalties since it opened. SEA’s 2 wins have been shutout victories vs lower tier teams & while DET is an improved team over 2008 they are still very young & I think Hasselbeck takes advantage of a very poor Lions secondary with a deep WR unit here.

The Giants have lost 3 in a row for the 1st time since Dec 2006 & now find themselves 3rd in the NFC East. SD is off 2 wins vs soft foes with KC & OAK. SD didn’t exactly impress me vs OAK with just an 8 pt home win though they did outgain them 346-180. Coughlin has thrown the gauntlet down at his players this week & I’ve noticed the reports of the Giants having their best practices of the year. Manning has struggled since his heel injury the L3W but I’m not sold on the quality of wins by the Chargers who have to travel vs a very irate Giants team. The Giants will play very hard here & I think they simply get back to basics & play hard nosed football here.

CIN upset the Ravens 17-14 in the 1st meeting TY as they had a 403-257 yd edge but needed an 11 play/ 80 yd drive at the end to win the game. BAL got it’s swagger back LW with a 30-7 win over the Broncos & now get a CIN team I am not sure is ready to deal with success. CIN will be confident at home with a RB that broke BAL’s 40 game streak of no 100 yd rushers & a solid WR corps vs questionable CB’s. I think this will be a lower scoring game as the Ravens will ratchet up the physical play to try & alter the WR routes but the Bengals will steal another win on a late FG.

I think ATL is a bit worn out after an emotional MNF loss to NO LW & they rested 12 players WED because of it. They also have road games vs CAR & NYG on deck while WAS will be rested after the bye. I do think that WAS will be better prepared here with Sherm Lewis getting extra time to integrate the offense & know the players but they come in without their #1 LT, RG & the best skill position player (TE Cooley) is out for 4-6 months. WAS has built their #4 defense on the bones of the weakest schedule in the NFL as well & that concerns me. That said the Falcons are a bit fatigued here & the unknown factor of just how Lewis will call a game vs the #29 defense plays into the Redskins hands & this will be a closer than expected game.

The Cardinals have been a bit of a confusing team TY doing poorly at home (1-3) but flexing the muscle on the road (3-0). Warner has avg’d 250 ypg (74%) with a 5-2 ratio on the road TY with the Cardinals scoring 27 ppg. CHI’s 30-6 win over CLE didn’t impress me as they struggled again in pass protection (4 sacks), Cutler wasn’t very crisp (57%) & Forte only had a 3.5 ypc (90 yds) vs a struggling defense. CHI only has 1 win TY over a team with a winning record & that was after PIT missed a FG that would have given them the win late in the game. Weather won’t be a problem here & I like Warner to rebound after LW’s 5 int game.

CAR gets NO at exactly the right time after a big confidence boosting win vs ARZ on the road LW. The Panthers will NOT be afraid to face the 7-0 Saints as Fox is 5-1 vs Payton & has never lost in the Superdome. I recognize that some teams simply matchup well vs others & I wouldn’t be surprised to see some variant of the Wildcat by the Panthers here. CAR is a power run team however & they will be without both FB’s here as well as WR Muhammad again. NO’s defense has pulled in more int’s (15) than Delhomme has thrown (14) & has more TD’s off int’s (5) than what he’s thrown (4). NO is a special team this year & I think they will meet the Vikings in the NFC Championship & they won’t stop until they secure the #1 seed.

San Fran has held its own vs the 2 offensive juggernauts from the AFC South the L2W losing by 7 pts total vs HOU & IND while on the road for both. They are now at home & get Vince Young in his 1st road start in 23 games. I’m not sold on Young (125 yds 83% 1 TD LW) as I haven’t been proven he’s developed enough as a passer & I think Patrick Willis will do a great job as a QB spy here. SF is a much more disciplined & effective tackling defense so I don’t see another big game out of Chris Johnson (228 yds 9.5 LW) here. SF has some serious injury issues this week having lost both OT’s & best CB over the L2W. I really like P Andy Lee (41.8 net only 3 TB’s in 48 punts) vs the 2nd worst special teams unit I have graded out over the last 10 years & RB Gore will dictate the game here.
