This week’s top performance went to Oklahoma in their dominating shutout win over Oklahoma St as they came in with a potent offense so the computer loved the fact they held the Cowboys to 109 total yards.

ot even as close as the 37-10 final would indicate with Florida St getting a late TD and Florida having a 276 yard edge. Georgia’s win at Georgia Tech got my vote for the FWAA Tostitos Fiesta Bowl National Team of the Week, of which I am a member of. The situation did greatly favor UGA as GT had the ACC Title game on deck and UGA was a rare underdog in this series and was out to avenge last year’s embarrassing loss. GT even got a late TD to only lose the game by 6.

Houston could have beaten Rice by a much worse as they led 49-0 at the half with most of Rice yards coming versus the Cougars backups on defense.

South Carolina had the situational edge against Clemson and outgained the Tigers by 128 yards winning as a home dog and salvaging the season. They earned my computer's #5 performance.

TCU’s domination of New Mexico was #6 and even though they won 51-10 keep in mind that my computer takes into account strength of opponent played and site and TCU did not even win as much as expected (they were a 44 point favorite in Vegas).

Miami, Fl’s win over USF was so dominating that they cut away from the game to go to the Kansas/Missouri game in the 4Q. That earned my #8 spot and while USF played a much anticipated game against their “big brother”, Miami dominated with a 181 yard edge and the game was never really in question.

Auburn’s near upset of Alabama earned them the #9 spot and they were the highest rated losing team to appear on the chart. They actually outgained Bama by 41 yards and this just in - Alabama is a pretty good team.

Boise St gave up a late TD vs Nevada which probably hurt their style points but they probably did enough to earn a trip to the BCS bowls. Hopefully both Boise and TCU will make it there.

Mississippi St’s win over Mississippi in the Egg Bowl earned them the #11 spot even though they only outgained the Rebels by 27 yards, their 41-27 win was indeed impressive.

Texas A&M was the #2 losing team on the chart coming in at #12 for their game vs Texas. They only lost by 10 piling up 532 yards vs a D that was allowing just 239 ypg. Texas comes in behind them, even though they won the game on the road in College Station. Naturally they played the softer foe in Texas A&M while the Aggies had to play them.

USC was helped by their 58 yard TD at the end of the game one play after taking a knee but UCLA’s Rick Neuheisel had called timeout. The 58 yards and 7 points probably bumped them up a couple of notches.

Colorado actually outgained Nebraska by 186 yards and come in as the 3rd highest losing team from this past weekend. While they lost the game by 8 points, scoring a Hail Mary on the final play, they had a 403-220 yard edge giving up both a punt and IR TD and 2/3 of the computer formula takes into the yards and not just the points.

Ohio’s win over Temple not only wrapped up the MAC East Title for them and a trip to next week’s Title game, it earned them the #17 performance. They did outgain the previously unbeaten in MAC play Owls by 116 yards.

West Virginia’s win over Pittsburgh in the Backyard Brawl earned them the #18 spot.

Arkansas lost at LSU by my computer has them as the #19 best performance and the 4th best losing performance. They, of course, lost the game in OT and in my computer, we take out all OT yards and points so it actually counted the game as a tie, which it was after regulation.

Central Michigan played a meaningless game against Northern Illinois and of all the teams with a Championship Game on deck, probably fared the best outgaining the Huskies by 180 yards winning 45-31 even allowing a late TD.

Baylor’s near miss vs Texas Tech earned them the #21 spot. They failed on 4th & goal at the 5 at the end of the game and led through most of it.

Washington makes an appearance in the Top 25 for their shutout win over Washington St.

Just missing out on the Top 25 were Alabama at #26, LSU #27, Utah #28, Nevada #29 and Notre Dame #30.
