Here is my computer’s individual grade performance of this past weekend’s games. It was a week where the Top 7 teams in the country had one team that won by double digits and that was Alabama and they only outgained South Carolina by 78 yards in the game. There were no 100+ ratings this week.

Surprisingly my computer’s top performance went to TCU who got off to a sluggish start versus Colorado St but showed no signs of look-ahead dominating the Rams with a 499-182 yard edge in their 44-6 rout. Surprisingly the week’s #3 performance went to Oklahoma who lost to Texas. Keep in mind OU was playing a team that my computer has ranking very high in Texas and they outgained them by 42 yards at a neutral site.

Arkansas earned my #4 grade at 97.35 as they went into The Swamp facing the #1 team in the country and were only outgained by 34 yards and lost by a last second FG.

Texas Tech’s 31-10 win over Nebraska is impressive but they were outgained by 26 yards which is a bit misleading as Tech only had 47 yards in the second half vs the Huskers protecting their big lead.

USC outgained Notre Dame by 134 yards in South Bend earning them the week’s #7 performance.

Kansas St’s blowout of Texas A&M put them high on the charts and it may move higher as I analyze the games to see if there are garbage yards coming out from A&M. Keep in mind Kansas St led 59-0 in the 3Q.

Remember that these ratings adjust on a weekly basis as the opponent adjust. If the opponent that a team played gets stronger during the course of the year, then their ratings goes up on those individual week’s as well and visa versa.

Penn St blew out Minnesota outgaining them 464-138 and was also a Top 10 performance.

Purdue’s upset of Ohio St surprisingly only came up #12 despite the fact they outgained the Buckeyes by 74 yards. The game was a home game for Purdue.

Cincinnati only outgained USF by 25 yards on the road but because they won by 17, that helped them get into the Top 15.

Georgia finally had an impressive game after waffling through most of their season as they outgained Vanderbilt by 103 yards on the road in their 34-10 win an were #18.

Iowa trailed Wisconsin 10-0 but rallied to win that game and outgained the Badgers by 53 yards. I continue to compare them to last year’s Alabama squad as the similarities are strong. I did a blog about them over the summer and you can click here to read it.

Louisiana Tech steam rolled New Mexico St outgaining them by 398 yards in their 45-7 win. NMSt’s only score was on a fumble returned for a TD late.

Notre Dame broke into the Top 25 with their performance against USC despite losing by 7 at home.

Kentucky’s upset of Auburn got them into the Top 25 this week.

Right now I would say that if there is only one unbeaten FBS team at the end of the season, the one loss team that would have the best chance at playing for the Title Game figures to be USC which has survived some pretty tough road tests this season and generally plays their best ball at the end of the season.

Don’t forget - I have added to the NFL team pages which now include the weekly individual game grade for each team. That format will be ready for the college teams and each individual team page should have that up by Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. It will also have the overall ranking of each team based on my computer’s individual game performances. In future week’s it will be available every Monday.
