The Bowl confidence contest is under way and Congratulations to the top player (Noles 1959) who has a perfect score thru the first three games with a perfect 102 pts. However many times the players that rank in the top early are those that wagered the most pts and if you are not on the top leaderboard right now, naturally you still have plenty of opportunities to rise up/fall down the standings in the coming weeks.
Two years ago we expanded the contest to nearly 1200 contestants, which was double from any other previous season and last year we more than doubled the number of contestants with nearly 3000 entries! This year we topped that 3000 mark and have our largest entry pool to date!
So far thru 3 games a lot of people already have one loss as 80.6% of you picked San Diego St and they were beaten by Louisiana on the final play. Also 43.5% of you had Ohio winning so the remaining 56.5% of you who picked Utah St in the Potato Bowl bowl also lost. Most of you (72.6%) had Temple winning and that came as no surprise as they rolled over Wyoming. Only 900 out of more than 3000 remain perfect. Here are the top 10 picksheets so far after the first 3 bowl games.

Another new feature this year is the pick statistics for each game. I find this interesting to see the percentages of who you think will win each game and how many confidence points on average were selected for each team.
Here are all the bowl games ranked in order on the percentages of each game with your picks in bold.

To no surprise Boise St takes the top spot as 96.2% of you picked the Broncos to beat Arizona St in the Las Vegas Bowl. Also high on the list was TCU 95.2% and in a rematch from earlier this year 57.8% of you picked LSU to beat Alabama for a second time this season and win the national title. Down at the bottom was Toledo with only 51.4% of you predicting the Rockets to bear Air Force in the Military Bowl.
Another way to look at how you voted is to see the average number of confidence pts wagered on each game. These points totals should be close to the overall % but that will not always be the case as many of you could have picked Alabama by a large confidence pts while others of you could have picked LSU by that same confidence total. Here are the top Confidence pt averages with the rank in the left.

Just like the percentages, the Las Vegas saw most of you wagering the highest confident point total and again most of you picked Boise to win. There were a couple of interesting notes. Despite being just #27 in the percentage rank the Ticket City Bowl saw an average of 17.4 pts which was the 14th highest. Also the Military Bowl had an average of 14.6 pts, which was higher than 6 other bowls. This means that while only 51.7% picked Toledo, you picked the Rockets with a higher point total and the 48.6% of you who picked Air Force also picked the Falcons with a high point total.
