Three years ago I started a weekly blog that included my surprise fantasy picks for each week of the college football season. Each week I picked the players that were flying under the radar and I am pleased that I finished my first year at a very successful 83-29-7 (74%). In 2010 I had another successful year with a winning week every week and an overall 103-45-17 (70%) record. Last year I went 82-44-11 (65%). So far this year I am 109-38-9 74%.

This year I will again be giving you the surprise fantasy picks each and every week in my Thursday daily blog and here are my picks for Week 10. Keep in mind you will not find players like Denard Robinson, Matt Barkley or Montee Ball in my picks. These are strictly surprise picks of players who are flying under the radar.

My QB's Of The Week:
Ryan Aplin, Arkansas St • Tino Sunseri, Pittsburgh

QB Ryan Aplin, Arkansas St vs Middle Tennessee – All Ryan Aplin has done in the month of November is surpass the 300 yard passing mark in all 3 of his games while also delivering a very solid 8-2 ratio. With a conference-deciding matchup on deck against Middle Tennessee, we expect Aplin to repeat his recent performance and once again put together another fine showing.

QB Tino Sunseri, Pittsburgh vs USF – Tino Sunseri is off a stellar outing a week ago against Rutgers that saw him earn BE Off POW honors. The Panthers now journey to Tampa to take on a Bulls squad that has nothing left to play for while Pitt needs a win here to reach a potential bowl. USF allowed 456 passing yards just 2 weeks ago and while we don’t think Sunseri will reach that level of productivity, we do feel that he will air it our a fair share of times and produce nicely here.

My RB's Of The Week:
Stepfan Taylor, Stanford • Lache Seastrunk, Baylor

RB Stepfan Taylor, Stanford vs UCLA (Friday) – Off of a 142 yard, 2 td performance last week that earned him P12 Off POW honors, Stepfan Taylor is the obvious choice this week as the Cardinal again play the Bruins, although this time it’s on “The Farm”. With a trip to the Rose Bowl on the line expect the Cardinal to lean heavily on their veteran RB.  

RB Lache Seastrunk, Baylor vs Oklahoma St – After paying immediate dividends for us last week with 136 rush yards we won’t hesitate to use Lache Seastrunk for a 2nd consecutive week here against an Oklahoma St defense that is off a crucial OT loss to rival Oklahoma. OSU is allowing 166 ypg on the ground in road games this year while Seastrunk attempts to surpass the 100 yard mark for the 4th time in the past 5 games. 

My WR's Of The Week:
Kenny Stills, Oklahoma • William Dukes, FAU

WR Kenny Stills, Oklahoma vs TCU – With 19 receptions for 194 yards and 5 td’s over the last 2 games, Kenny Stills is an easy selection for us here as he continues to be Landry Jones’ #1 target. TCU has allowed 300+ passing yards in 4 games so far this year and we are counting on Oklahoma to reach that plateau again here. 

WR William Dukes, FAU vs Louisiana – Back to back 100 yard receiving games have us selecting William Dukes here against a Louisiana defense that allowed 360 yards thru the air last week against South Alabama. Judging by the amount of passes that FAU averages per game (34), we like our chances with their #1 target here.

My Defenses Of The Week:
Connecticut • Pittsburgh

Connecticut Defense vs Cincinnati  – UConn’s defensive effort was commendable last week in their upset win over Louisville as they held the Cardinals without a point over the first 3 quarters of the game. Through their first 11 games the Husky defense has held 5 foes under 300 total yards and with a bowl on the line, we expect that defense to step  up again here.

Pittsburgh Defense vs USF – Pitt’s defense did an excellent job against USF a season ago holding a Bulls offense that came in averaging 46 ppg to just 17 in a blow out victory. A year has past and USF is struggling mightily on the offensive side of the ball now that QB BJ Daniels has been lost for the season with an injury. In the 2 games since his absence the Bulls have posted just 1 td and 19 total points and we believe that trend will continue here against a Pitt team that is just one win away from becoming bowl eligible.
