Daily Fantasy Value Plays for College Week 1.

DraftKings has released their Daily Fantasy college football salaries for the week, and the experts at CollegeFootballGeek.com have hunkered down and scoured all of the data to find the best Value Plays on the docket. 

These Value Plays are comprised of players poised to out-produce their DraftKings salaries this week.  These are the “diamonds in the rough” that your DFS competitors may overlook.  They are the difference-makers you need in your lineup to win one of the big DFS contests!

VALUE PLAYS: THURSDAY GAME SET


QUARTERBACK

Thomas Sirk, Duke ($6,000) vs. Tulane
Sirk will be the man under center for the Blue Devils and brings excellent running ability to the table. He could easily tally a couple of rushing scores against an overmatched Tulane defense. Look for Sirk to easily exceed his dirt-cheap price tag in Week 1 and pay off big for savvy DFS players. Sirk appears to be a solid option for people not looking to pay up for a QB on Thursday night.


RUNNING BACKS

AJ Ouellette , Ohio ($6400) vs. Idaho
Ouelette ran for 378 yards and tallied five total touchdowns in the last three games of 2014 and could roll right through a putrid Idaho rush defense. The Vandals ranked 122nd against the run and allowed a staggering 32 rushing touchdowns last season. Expect this Bobcat to post huge numbers and crush value. Anything less than 120 yards and two sCores would be a disappointment. Ride him all day long.

Ralph Webb, Vanderbilt ($6500) vs. Western Kentucky
It’s not often that we recommend a Vanderbilt player in DFS, but this could be the exception to the rule. Webb has a terrific matchup against a Western Kentucky defense that would have trouble stopping a high school team from running the football. Expect this Commodore to easily top the 100-yard mark and likely add a couple of scores.


WIDE RECEIVERS

Kolby Listenbee, TCU ($4700) vs. Minnesota
Listenbee is a big time deep threat with world class speed. He has looked fantastic in fall camp according to multiple reports and could see an increase in targets with Deante Gray questionable for the opener. This Frog could get deep on the Gophers a couple of times and that could lead to some big fantasy numbers. Look for Listenbee to easily top his $4700 price tag and be one of the top punt options in this game slate.

Dezmon Epps, Idaho ($3200) vs. Ohio
Epps had 79 receptions and almost 1000 yards receiving in 2013, but missed last year because of some off-field incidents. He has been reinstated to the team and has basically been uncover able in fall camp. He could have a huge day against the 107th ranked pass defense of the Bobcats. This Vandal is easily my favorite “sneaky” play of this slate, regardless of position. He looks to be a steal at this price point.


VALUE PLAYS: SATURDAY (EARLY ONLY) GAME SET


QUARTERBACK
 
Dane Evans, Tulsa ($6700) vs. FAU 
Evans could be a break out star in 2015 under new head coach, Philip Montgomery. He will be playing in a pass heavy offense and will be facing an FAU pass defense that ranked 87th in 2014. He has a stud WR in Keevan Lucas and could easily top the 300-yard mark on opening night. Expect plenty of points from Evans and the Tulsa offense.


RUNNING BACKS

Roc Thomas, Auburn ($4300) vs. Louisville 
Thomas has been embroiled in a heated battle for the starting RB job and appears to have come out on top for the opening week. He could be overlooked because of the competition and the match up, which is exactly why he is a true “sneaky” play. Roc comes in at a really low price and could pay big dividends for DFS players in Week One. 

Christian McCaffrey, Stanford ($4800) vs. Northwestern 
McCaffrey is an electric playmaker that is expected to be the cornerstone of the Stanford offense in 2015. He is an excellent receiving option out of the backfield which really helps his value on Draft Kings. This Cardinal could have a huge game against a potentially overmatched Northwestern defense and should exceed his low price tag in Week One.


WIDE RECEIVERS

Jordan Westerkamp, Nebraska ($3900) vs. BYU
Westerkamp should play a huge role in the revamped Huskers passing game with De’Mornay Pearson-El being sidelined for up to 6 weeks with an injury. He has an incredible match up against a BYU pass defense that ranked 114th in 2014 and gives up plenty of big plays. Look for this Husker to easily exceed value in what could be a very high scoring affair. 

Robbie Anderson, Temple ($3000) vs. Penn State
Anderson had 791 yards and nine touchdowns in the last nine games of 2013, but missed last year because of academic issues. He is back with the Owls and should immediately be the top target for PJ Walker. He could be forgotten about and have an extremely low ownership percentage against the Nittany Lions. He looks to be a steal at this price point.
