Most Improved Scoring Defense.

In today's Blog I will continue on with the Most Improved and Least Improved Scoring Defenses. The Most Improved Pass Defenses blog can be found <here>. Every year in my magazine I list the teams that I think will be the most improved and least improved prior to the season. This past year that chart was found on page 42. Again another team I expected would make the biggest improvement in scoring defense, North Carolina did just that. They improved from allowing 507 points in 2014 to just 343 in 2015. From my Top 15 in the magazine 9 teams ranked in the top 26. 7 teams ranked in the Top 11 being North Carolina, WKU, Georgia St, Florida St, Wisconsin, Boise St and Colorado.

The chart listed below is ranked in order from the most improved to the team that had the largest set back in scoring defense which was UCF (went from allowing 249 to 452. Of the bottom 5 teams that made my list in the 2015 magazine, 3 were in the bottom 31 on this list. Those teams were Oregon St, UTSA and Memphis.

The first column is last years defensive points allowed. The second column is defensive points from 2014. The 3rd column is the difference between the two with a negative number for improvement and the 4th column gives you their ranking based on improved defensive points from last year. On Friday I will list the Most Improved Rushing Offenses in 2015.
