Amway Coaches Poll.

Ten for Ten again. Here is the just released Amway Coaches Poll and my early projected AP Top 10. This year back in February as I always do, I projected the AP Top 10. It was unique this year as I had a Top 11 listed and that worked out perfect as the Baylor situation hit in April. At that time I simply pulled Baylor out and was left with a Projected AP Top 10.

With the perfect ten for ten again this year, the EIGHT year totals are very strong. When I predict the AP Top 25 (provided it will mirror the coaches poll) in February (about a HALF YEAR ahead of the actual AP poll), I have now hit on 76 of 80 teams. That means hitting all 10 teams in four of the eight years and missing by just one team in the other four years. Once again predicting the top ten teams in the AP poll SIX MONTHS in advance the record this year should move to 76 out of 80 or 95%!

Here is my Projected AP Top 10.

1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Oklahoma
4. Florida St
5. LSU
6. Ohio State
7. Michigan
8. Stanford
9. Tennessee
10. Notre Dame

Here is the Amway coaches top 10 that was just released.

1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Oklahoma
4. Florida St
5. Ohio State
6. LSU
7. Stanford
8. Michigan
9. Notre Dame
10. Tennessee

The exact same 10 teams are in both polls. The only differences is switching LSU and Ohio St's rank, Michigan and Stanford's rank as well as the ranks for Tennessee and Notre Dame. The actual AP Poll figures to have the exact same ten teams and could still have them in my February order.

Here is the COMPLETE Amway Coaches Poll with votes.

How The Poll Works

The Amway Coaches Poll is conducted weekly throughout the regular season using a panel of head coaches at FBS schools. The panel is chosen by random draw, conference by conference plus independents, from a pool of coaches who have indicated to the American Football Coaches Association their willingness to participate. Each coach submits a Top 25 with a first-place vote worth 25 points, second place 24, and so on down to one point for 25th.
